Camping

There are lots of ways to go camping.  Ours is an Escalade with a full size bed in the back (with sheets, comfy pillows–the works) that opens into an attached liftgate tent.  We’ve put together a set up that is working really well, and is surprisingly posh!  While we agree that it isn’t as refined an experience as having a camper (a “caravan” to our friends in the UK), we love the freedom of not having to manage a trailer or maneuvering with a hulking RV.  And, of course, we don’t have to buy, maintain,  store or insure a separate large vehicle. Perhaps best of all (with the Escalade’s good ground clearance and all-wheel drive), we can get to lots of remote places you wouldn’t dare take a trailer.
